Dr. Kelman has more than 40 years of experience in toxicology and has served as an expert in toxicological investigations across North America. He has also served as a toxicology expert in South Korea, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom. Dr Kelman is a Senior Vice President at J.S. Held and was President of Veritox, Inc. (1998-2019). He has held leadership and research positions at Golder Associates, Failure Analysis Associates, Inc., Battelle Memorial Institute, Pacific Northwest Laboratory (USDOE) and Comparative Animal Research Laboratory (Oak Ridge, TN). He served as Adjunct Professor at New Mexico State University for more than 20 years.
Dr. Kelman is a Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology (1980-); Fellow, ATS (2006-); and European Registered Toxicologist (2005-, United Kingdom). He served on the Board of Directors of ABT and on numerous SOT (1978-) committees, as President of the Metals and Molecular Biology Specialty Sections, and President of the Northwest Regional Chapter. He is a member of ACT (1993-), ASPET (1981-), British Toxicology Society (2006-), American College of Medical Toxicology (2018-), and American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (1998-).
Dr. Kelman has authored or co-authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications including several book chapters. He has served on national and international toxicology panels (National Academy of Sciences, USDOE, USNIOSH, USNIH, USNIEHS, USEPA, US Air Force, Korean NTP, Taiwan NIH) and received best paper awards from the Nanotoxicology Specialty Section (SOT) and AIHA as well as an Award of Merit from the Society for Experimental Biology and Medicine.
